When Did We Stop Having Fun?
When was the last time you did something just because it was fun?
Not because it helped your career.
Not because it checked a box on your to-do list.
Not because it made you more productive.
Just because you enjoyed it.
This week on Raised on Faith, Josh and I talked about something many adults quietly experience but rarely discuss: somewhere along the way, many of us stopped doing things simply for the joy of doing them.
As kids, fun came naturally. We explored, created, laughed, and spent time with people we cared about without needing a reason.
As adults, life gets busy. Responsibilities increase. Calendars fill up. Before we know it, every hour feels like it needs to be justified.
But maybe we've lost something important along the way.
This Week’s Reflection
God never asked us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders.
Yet many of us live as if every moment must be productive to have value.
The truth is that joy isn't a distraction from a meaningful life, it is part of a meaningful life.
Throughout Scripture, we see a God who created beauty, celebration, rest, community, laughter, and wonder. He designed us not merely to work, but to enjoy His creation and the people He has placed around us.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is put down our phones, step away from our responsibilities for a moment, and be fully present with our families and friends.
Not because we're earning anything.
But because these moments are gifts.
"The joy of the Lord is your strength." — Nehemiah 8:10
Maybe this week, God is inviting you to rediscover a little joy.

Prayer for the Week
Lord,
Thank You for the gift of joy. In a world that constantly pushes us to do more, remind us that our value is not found in our productivity but in our identity as Your children. Help us make time for the people we love, the moments that matter, and the simple joys that point us back to You.
Amen.
Thank you for being part of the Raised on Faith family.
We're grateful to be walking this journey with you.
Until next week,
